Hurried to get the horses fed before this storm came in. Some of them hate thunder so we were pressed for time.

Please continue to pray for Hope’s lower leg. Unfortunately she would not eat the feed with her antibiotics and pain medicine that was mixed in. We did manage to get a few of the antibiotic pills in her with treats but she figured it out and wouldn’t have anything to do with it after. We will keep trying different things, but you’d also have to know Hope to know that she has a BIG personality and sass. Yesterday the vet gave us three days to help her mend and if she isn’t better then we will have to talk about some difficult things 🥺. She is walking but with a slight limp and has an appetite so we will take small wins where we can. We will continue to help her as best we can. Thank you all for your continued prayers and good vibes…we need them.

If you will all say a prayer for our precious girl Hope. Today she suffered a very serious injury to her hind leg at her pastern/heel/hoof. The vet came out and luckily nothing was broken and the tendon had been spared….BUT….we have the next few days to see how she manages bearing weight and to make sure it doesn’t get infected. The other challenging part of this is that Hope has a fiery soul and is not a fan of medicine or anything that requires mending 😱. With that being said, the fiery part about her is also what can be her saving grace as she is one who could bounce back from this. Please pray her leg heals and no infection sets in as well as her being able to bear weight on it.

If you find it in your heart to send a donation that would be a blessing…small amounts from a lot of people add up. We have had to have the vet out a few times recently for an eye check and a few different smaller things and then today. That means 💸💸💸. Also large hay bales are becoming harder to find so we are going to be purchasing square bales for a while until the next cutting and they aren’t cheap either 🫣

Grooming is a great way to build a relationship with a horse. Come visit. Brush a few butts, you’ll be glad you did

A beautiful evening at the sanctuary delivering lots of scratches to the horses (their favorite next to snacks).

Scratching on them is a great way to develop a relationship, especially the places they can’t reach. In the warmer months as they shed those winter coats it’s beneficial to help get the excess hair off before we have those hot and humid days ahead. For the people who visit, you may notice as you spend time with them, you find that all the noise in your head gets quiet and you are more calm, more aware and more at peace. Horses have a way of doing that.

Come visit the herd and see for yourself.

The woods enchantress Hope 😆…she wanders in the woods frequently….there must be good snacks in there or that’s where the fairies live that leave knots in her mane.

We’d like to give a special shout out to Annette Joyce for taking interest in featuring us in the spring edition of the Connect 2 NW Guilford magazine. It’s a blessing to be able to spread the word about the wonderful horses whom reside here and bring awareness that blind horses matter 🫶🏻
