LATEST UPDATE ON FPD/STRATFORD:

Game 2 between the Vikings and Eagles is currently scheduled for Saturday. First pitch depends on what occurs in the Class AAA series between Deerfield-Windsor and Valwood. Play was suspended this afternoon with Valwood clinging to a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the 6th. The plan is for those teams to resume their game at 10 AM on Saturday. If the Valiants hold on and win, the series is over, and FPD/Stratford will hit the diamond following the trophy presentation. If Deerfield-Windsor comes back to win, then the plan is for those two teams to play a decisive Game 3 before FPD and Stratford get to resume their series. This is what I was told today by GIAA officials in Statesboro.

And to make matters even worse, it looks like rain could play a role again over the weekend. It’s really unfortunate for everyone involved. Let’s hope they can continue tomorrow.

UPDATE: Game 2 between FPD/Stratford has been PPD until Saturday.

The start time is still up in the air because of the Class AAA series.

What’s going on, Middle Georgia?! Might be another late night for FPD and Stratford here in Statesboro at the GIAA State Championships.

We’re currently in a lightning delay during Game 2 of the Class AAA game. Forecast doesn’t look good for the next couple of hours either.

I’ll try and update you guys as often as possible!

Hey, Middle Georgia. I made a mistake during my sportscast tonight. Accidentally called the Houston County baseball team the Cougars, instead of the Bears. Still dusting off the rust. Won't let it happen again!
