Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing baseball Moms!

The Mavericks made it to the championship for the Ira/Anchor Bay Lions club Mother’s Day tournament, but lost a tough battle to Ira.

The boys rocked their pink jerseys today playing an early 8am game and then in the championship at 10. We are proud of them how they all battled hard.

Our players of the tournament are Logan who led the team in hits this weekend and Josh who had a great sliding catch in the outfield.

A big shoutout also goes to Liam for having some keys hits, and playing great at 1st, 3rd, Catcher and in the outfield.

12u Mavs lost a tough battle in the semi finals this weekend at the battle in the valley tournament. We are proud of how hard the boys fought today.

Players of the weekend:

-Jason Shotwell got his first home run of the season. He was also stellar in the outfield with several nice grabs near the warning track.

- George Lucaj had 9 strikeouts on the weekend, stepped up as a leader and was one of our top hitters in the tournament.

And a final shout out to Max Bignotti who hit so well Game changer added a 🔥 next to his name 😆

Onto the mother’s day tournament in Ira Township next weekend.

Our first tournament is a wrap. The boys put up
A good fight but fell short of their ultimate goal.

A few highlights from the weekend:

Congratulations to Enzo who got his first out of the park home run! Enzo had 3 hits in 4 games.

Giovanni had a great tournament as well on both sides of the field. He had a .429 batting average with 3 runs and 3 RBI’s. Gio pitched 2 solid innings and locked down shortstop most of the tournament.

Onto next weekend’s “Battle in the Valley” tournament in Clinton township.

Trade Alert!!

The Macomb Mavericks 12u are excited to announce a blockbuster trade. We have required Shohei Ohtani Jr. from the Hanshin Jr. Tigers (Japan) in exchange for Liam Frogge, Camden Smiecinski and future considerations. We have yet to confirm that Shohei Ohtani Jr. is actually related to LA Dodger pitcher Shohei Ohtani but it is a risk we consider worth taking.

We would like to thank Liam and Cam for their hard-work and dedication to the team and we wish them the best of luck with their new team in Japan.

This weeks player of the week is Dominic Bowser!

Bowser aka King Bowser had a great week of hitting and will definitely be hitting some bombs when we start our tournaments. Plus he could potentially have the best hair on the team, this is very important for 12u baseball 😂.

Nice work Bowser and go Mavs!
