🖤💗 WHAT PEOPLE DON’T SEE BEHIND THE KAOS 💗🖤
People see the games.
They see the wins and losses.
They see the uniforms, the bats, the trophies and the smiles.
They see the girls stepping onto that five-sided diamond ready to compete.
But what they don’t always see is everything that happens behind the scenes.
They don’t see the VOLUNTEER COACH who is the first one to the field and the last one to leave.
The coach who doesn't get a paycheck.
The coach who chooses to be there.
The coach who spends countless hours planning practices, organizing games, making lineups, teaching fundamentals and figuring out how to make every player better.
They don't see the coach staying up late thinking about the team.
They don't see the tough decisions.
They don't see the difficult conversations.
They don't see the hours spent in the heat, the rain and the mud.
They don't see the patience it takes to teach a child not only how to play softball, but how to handle adversity, disappointment, pressure and failure.
Because a VOLUNTEER COACH isn't just teaching softball.
They're teaching life.
They're teaching teamwork.
They're teaching discipline.
They're teaching accountability.
They're teaching confidence.
They're teaching these girls to pick each other up when someone falls.
And then there are the parents.
The ones sitting behind the fence screaming until they lose their voices.
The ones cheering just as loudly for another player's hit as they do their own daughter's.
The ones who celebrate another girl's success because they understand that WE are a team.
Those parents matter.
Because when our girls look into the stands and hear everyone cheering, they don't hear “that's not my kid.”
They hear:
“WE'VE GOT YOU.”
That's what makes a team special.
So to every volunteer coach who sacrifices their time, energy, weekends and sleep...
To every parent who packs the bags, loads the equipment, drives the miles, buys the uniforms, stands in the heat and rain, and cheers until their voice is gone...
THANK YOU.
Your kids may not understand all of it right now.
But one day they'll look back and realize that these weren't just softball seasons.
They were some of the greatest memories of their childhood.
And that's why we keep showing up.
That's why we keep building.
That's why we keep believing.
Because we're not just building softball players.
We're building young women.
And Team KAOS?
We're just getting started. 🖤💗🥎
