Women’s Wilderness Weekend Day 2 with Wildkind Outdoors 🔥🪵

Today, the women stepped outside their comfort zones and learned to start their own fires using nothing but a ferro rod and striker.

Some of the ladies reflection:

✨ “Starting a fire felt empowering.”
✨ “I feel more confident.”
✨ “I learned to be patient and remain calm.”
✨ “If you can remain calm, you can do anything.”
✨ “Powerful and strong.”

There’s something incredibly empowering about creating fire with your own two hand, learning to trust yourself, stay patient, problem-solve, and keep going when the first spark doesn’t become a flame.

This weekend’s wilderness survival course has already given us so many amazing moments, and we can’t wait to share more with you throughout the week. 💕

Women’s Wilderness Weekend Day 1! 🌲💕✨

We started with lunch at COATI Uprise, then headed out for a hike at Red Rock Canyon Open Space. From there, we made a quick stop in Green Mountain Falls before heading up to Mueller State Park for a Dutch Oven Cooking Class. 🍒🍍

And yes… we made a cherry-pineapple upside-down dump cake! It was delicious!😋

After class, we headed into the mountains of Cripple Creek to set up our tents. We got a quick introduction to fire building and then spent the evening sitting around the campfire, relaxing, laughing, and enjoying stars in the sky. 🌌

Today we’re headed into a full day of women’s wilderness survival training with Wildkind Outdoors.
