When you're fishing remote lakes in New Hampshire's White Mountains, the loons come close to see an even bigger metaphorical loon and to grade his casting style. Meanwhile, the lake has signs all over to stay away from aggressive loons. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
And yes, I caught fish, all around 10 or 11 inches and brook trout.

Inchworms stayed making an appearance at Malden Anglers in the past week. They lower themselves to the ground using a stand of silk. I always think of this as rappelling. Inchworm flies have worked really welll in a green, tan, or yellow. Or if you don't have one, try a small dry midge when the fish start looking up and they'll take it just the same.

Throat sample from a fish 2 weeks ago. The algae was blocking the chironomids from emerging, and the fish were eating pupa-sized, pupa-colored sticks. I got the water sprayed for algae and moved aerators around so the hatch is back on.

I got "the seven-segment goods" yesterday from BCFlyguys - Fly Fishing Kamloops. This is the Mighty Mites Pupae Pack and most of them are #16 and #18. They are perfect for my local club. I like the tying style with smaller beads, white gills, and curved-shank hooks.

Watching hockey and tying flies. This is a Chironomid Klinkhåmer in #16. The abdomen is a goose biot. They were working really well for me yesterday at Malden Anglers.
