Laina had a 4th place finish last Thursday night at Rannyville, she started 4th in her feature got shuffled back all the way to 9th and drove it to a solid 4th for the finish! Thats our Rocket Girl! Now on to Weedsport Kartway for the day 🏁🚀

Last night's race for the Rocket was eventful to say the least, we started out the night with forgetting our transponder so thank goodness we had the option to rent one. Then as Ricky was setting up the Kart and started it up he realized it was getting no power, the engine is smoked 😞.....Ricky scrambled around trying to get our spare ready for hot laps with Uncle Chad to the rescue to help! Got the spare on which Laina pulled a 95 out of 100 which put her last in her heat, there was a shuffle in the heat where she ended up last. Laina started 10th out of 12 in her feature. With a few cautions and great driving Laina got up to 4th, lap 13 out of 15 she hit a huge groove in the track that broke the nose of her kart and she dropped to 5th. Caution was thrown on the last lap and Laina almost had 4th but ended up with a solid 5th place with a broken kart nose and an engine that didnt have as much power as our blown one did. Now we have to figure out how to get our blown one fixed and back in time for weedsport where she is tied for 1st place. Well thats racing folks, just when you think you have things figured out something jumps up to humble ya real quick.

Not quite sure how anyone won last night in jr 3 the whole class and track was absolutely awful. There was so much dust the kids couldn't even see to pass and when they tried they hit loose dirt and spun. There was more cautions last night in the class than actual laps. The whole race timed out! Anyway we got a bad start in the heat and ended up last. This put Laina starting 14th out of 16 karts in the feature. In just 2 laps Laina made it up 4th where on the 5th lap she gets hammered from behind, hits loose dirt and starts to spin, somehow this kid saves it tucks her nose in and starts making more passes. Lap 7 Laina was in 6th, on one of the very many restarts from cautions she gets pushed into the infield where her chain pops off and she has to be taken off the track. We have a few hundred dollars in damages we have to fix after tonight, to be right back out there for Monday nights race. Laina came off upset, and yelled "WHY IS THIS A DEMOLITION DERBY?! WHY DO PEOPLE NOT KNOW HOW TO RACE, THATS ALL I WANT TO DO IS RACE" it was a pretty eventful evening for everyone.....out of 16 karts only 11 were left standing last night before the race timed out, im just going to leave it at that.
