Central Virginia Regional Soccer Association

CVRSA is governed by a Board of Directors. Membership is open to all interested private and municipal soccer programs in the City of Lynchburg and the surrounding Counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford and Campbell. Each member association or municipal organization annually appoints a representative to serve as Director to the CVRSA Board. Organizations that are not members of CVRSA are not represented on the Board of Directors and do not participate in establishing policy or in seasonal game play. They are, however, welcome to attend CVRSA meetings and participate in other CVRSA-sponsored activities such as coaching clinics and post-season jamborees. CVRSA’s services include coordinating and scheduling seasonal recreation-league play among the member associations, organizing and scheduling a post-season fall jamboree, assigning of referees, and training of coaches. Activity is focused on the older age groups (U10 and above) where many of our member association’s teams play one another and coordination is critical. For game play at the U10 and older age groups referee crews for all CVRSA-scheduled games are arranged through and assigned by the Blue Ridge Soccer Officials (BRSO), with whom CVRSA works closely to insure that a sufficient pool of the highest possible caliber of referees is available. The format and rules of play for each age group scheduled by CVRSA is, of necessity, standardized by agreement among the member organizations in order to avoid confusion and establish appropriate team roster sizes. However, member organizations may selectively choose to schedule only certain age groups with CVRSA and schedule others themselves or with another organization, depending on their specific needs. Activity involving recreational play at the youngest age levels (U6 and U8) and travel-team play is handled independently by the member organizations.
