Race For The Million at Owosso Speedway 🏁
Long post ahead!
Race For The Million was race number two for the million, so we made the trip from Lutz, Florida to Michigan ready to go to work.
We unloaded Tuesday for practice hoping to get three solid rounds in, but one lap into practice my fuel system had other plans. We battled a fuel system issue through all three rounds Tuesday and unfortunately weren’t able to gain much information. Huge thank you to everyone that jumped in to help until we finally got it resolved.
Wednesday gave us one engine heat and two more rounds of practice. While most teams were already dialed in and just scuffing tires, we were basically just getting started. My guys went to work, we made adjustments, and we found speed quick. We ended up 9th on the board one round and 7th the next.
Rolling into qualifying, I knew it was going to take everything we had. We laid down a solid lap and ended up 7th overall. That put us on the outside row for Heat Race 3, where the top two lock into the dash. We got the job done and locked ourselves into the dash, drew an 8, and started last. We were only able to gain one spot there, which lined us up 7th for the feature.
The feature itself was a battle. At one point we fell back to around 10th or 11th, but we kept fighting and worked our way back to finish 6th.
Am I happy with that? Absolutely.
Do we still have a lot of work to do? Absolutely.
I’ve said this before, but this season is personal for me. I’m incredibly thankful for every opportunity I’ve been given to drive fast race cars, but this year especially means a lot because it’s the first year traveling in the car that built me. We don’t run a Beast chassis — we run a Hurricane. That’s where me and Papa started.
We don’t have notebooks for these racetracks. We have Florida figured out, but at 16 years old my goal is to become universal — to be able to jump into any race car, work with different motor builders, different chassis, and be competitive anywhere we unload.
I share these updates because my fans are the people cheering the loudest for me. Some of you have multiple streaming subscriptions just to watch me race no matter where I’m at. Some of you travel to tracks, book flights, hotels, and spend your weekends supporting me. That support never goes unnoticed, and I’m beyond grateful for every bit of it.
I’ll always do my best to keep everyone updated along the way.
Huge thank you to everyone behind me supporting this mission. To my family thank you for everything you do!
Aaron and Sam Pierce for all of their support and knowledge and for surrounding me with teammates and a team who share the same vision.
Tra, for understanding every adjustment I ask for and helping make our car better everywhere I go.
Frank, for being by my side every single week since I was 5 years old — 11 years and counting.
Ricky, for tires, loading, driving, traveling, and everything else you do behind the scenes.
We’ll keep digging. 👊🏁
Up Next is worldwide technology in the Silver Crown car Sunday night.
