Congratulations to our girls for coming in 19th at the 5A D2 State Championship meet at USC on Thursday, October 9th! All three relays were 16th in the state after going best times! The 200 medley by over 2 seconds, 200 free by over a second and the 400 free by over 8 seconds! The relays were Layla Miller, Lydia Statham, Lydia Cyrier and Zoe Branham in the 200 medley and Zoe Branham, Layla Miller, Allyssa Tutt and Lydia Cyrier in the 200 and 400 free relay.

Junior Zoe Branham will finish the season as 34th in the 50 and 32nd in the 100 free.
Junior Allyssa Tutt 38th in the 200 free and 54th in the 50 free.
Sophomore Lydia Cyrier 42nd in the 200 IM and 37th in the 100 breast.
Junior Layla Miller 48th in the 50 free and 43rd in the 100 back.
Freshman Presley Guster 63rd in the 50 free.

The boys were 20th overall in state at the 5A D2 meet at USC on Saturday, October 11th.

The 200 medley relay of Parker Watts, Jacob Hodges, Luke Nichols and Griffin Proctor tied the team record and was 17th in the state.

The boys 200 free relay finishes the season 21st and the boys 400 relay just missed the qualifying time but would have been 17th in the state as they were the next qualifier.

Harlin Boyce reset the 500 free record again with a 24th place finish as a 7th grader. He was also 38th in the 200 free.
Sophomore Jacob Hodges finished the year 27th in the 100 breast. He was also 55th in the 50 free.
Freshman Parker Watts is 29th in the 200 individual medley. He was also 32nd in the 100 back.
Senior Griffin Proctor was 54th in the 50 free.
Senior Luke Nichols was 43 in the 100 butterfly.

The Lugoff-Elgin Demon swim team boys and girls finished 3rd in an action packed meet at the Jeep Rogers YMCA on Friday night!

Some highlights:
Zoe Branham All-Region and improved state time in the 50 free from her 200 free leadoff.

Boys 200 medley relay of Parker Watts, Jacob Hodges, Luke Nichols and Griffin Proctor improved their state time and missed the team record by .6!

Allyssa Tutt got the 200 free state consideration time!

Harlin Boyce All-Region, improved state time and team record in the 500 free!

Jacob Hodges improved state time and team record in the 100 breast!

Parker Watts All-Region and improved state time in the 100 back!

200 free relay of Zoe Branham, Allyssa Tutt, Layla Miller and Lydia Cyrier improved their state time!

200 free relay of Parker Watts, Jacob Hodges, Luke Nichols and Griffin Proctor improved their state time!

Layla Miller improved her 100 back state time!

It was a great last season meet for the Demons! Lots of dropped time, cheering and exciting finishes!

Senior Night Highlights!

The Lugoff-Elgin Demons celebrated Senior Night in style going 7-0 on the night to finish our regular season meet schedule 23-3. We honored Seniors; Emily Turowsky, Niki Snyder, Pavel Cartis, Griffin Proctor, and Luke NIchols.

Some of the highlights on the night were:
Jacob Hodges improving his state time and beating his record again in the 100 breaststroke.
The girls 200 medley relay of Layla Miller, Lydia Statham, Lydia Cyrier, Zoe Branham improved their state times.
Lydia Cyrier improved her 200 IM and 100 fly state time.
Parker Watts improved his 50 free state time.
Layla Miller got the 100 backstroke state time.
Zoe Branham improved her 50 free state time.

The Demons swept the visiting teams and went 6-0 against Sumter, Governor’s School, Camden, North Central and Thomas Hart.

The lady Demons saw a new state time for the night, Lydia Statham in the 50 freestyle as well as the 200 Medley relay of Layla Miller, Lydia Statham, Lydia Cyrier, and Zoe Branham improved their time.

The boys saw Jacob Hodges improve his 50 free state time and Harlin Boyce improve his 500 freestyle state time.

The Lugoff-Elgin Demons were 4-1 on the night beating Irmo, Ridgeview, Camden and North Central and the boys only lost by 2 to AC Flora.
