Cats out of the bag! If you’ve seen those orange and white jerseys blur by you, you already know: the brand new Catalyst team is active. Here’s what to know 👇👇👇
🥇 Catalyst was designed to lower the barriers for high-level bike racers in the midwest region. The goal is to help those riders find success and develop skills.
🤩 How? Catalyst plans to collaborate regionally with the teams, organizations, and individuals devoted to the midwest’s bike community in order to form a sustainable bike racing development pipeline for dedicated and driven individuals, regardless of socioeconomic status.
🏁 Catalyst values community, accessibility, discipline. Cycling is an industry like many others with cost barriers—but it doesn’t have to be “pay to win”. Catalyst demonstrates that you don’t need the flashiest bike, premium coaching, or expensive sports nutrition to be a top competitor.
⭐️ Members are stewards of the sport, racing all cycling disciplines, hosting group training rides and races, volunteering time, money, and energy to the preservation and growth of our beloved sport.
💜 How is the LCC involved? One of the benefits of the LCC being a 501c3 nonprofit is that we can be an incubator for new projects and organizations like Catalyst. Being a “fiscal sponsor” effectively bootstraps Catalyst with organizational and financial management support on their way to become an independent 501c3 as well.
So if you see a Catalyst racer on the start line this season, be sure to give them some kudos!
