The Compatibility Triangle: Energy, Values, Rhythm
by Ethan
Most matches fail not because of chemistry, but because the triangle isn’t aligned:
Energy (how you show up day-to-day)
Are you battery-givers or battery-drainers for each other?
Do your social speeds match (homebody vs. out-every-weekend)?
Values (what matters when it’s inconvenient)
Kindness under stress, money beliefs, family priorities, faith, growth.
If it costs them something, do they still live it?
Rhythm (timing + pace)
Text cadence, planning style, intimacy tempo, alone-time needs.
Peace happens when rhythms complement, not compete.
Mini-audit (use on date 2–4):
“When you’re low-energy, what helps you reset?” (Energy)
“What’s a value you paid a price to keep?” (Values)
“How do you like to plan your week?” (Rhythm)
Two scripts to keep it clean:
“I’m intentional about my calendar. I like picking a plan 24–48h ahead—work for you?”
“I’m a Sunday reset person. I’ll be quiet then, but fully present Monday.”
Red flag reframe: If rhythm constantly clashes, it’s not a project—it’s information.
