I find so many people who are or want to be actors are so busy looking for an agent or manager or a role or getting into the SAG union or networking or getting the perfect set up for self tapes, or new head-shots or a demo reel, etc. etc. etc. My experience as an acting coach is that most people show up to acting classes or workshops unprepared. Their heads are full of the business of acting instead of the craft, which I can honestly say I was guilty of the opposite when I first got into acting. I was all about the craft and didn't focus on the business. It is important to have a balance. I heard this quote from an acting coach I worked with Larry Moss and it has always stuck with me. I stumbled across it in a meme today and wanted to share it with you. "Get so good at the craft of acting that they can't ignore you."
