Running a business had me so fried I couldn't show up for my family the way I needed to. My wife and I kept having these half-conversations while I'm doing the dishes, brain completely gone.

So we started doing a weekly family standup Tuesday nights after the kids go to bed. Relationship check-in, budget, calendar etc.

Easy to do, easy not to do.

Anybody doing the same or gonna give this a try? Let me know

Backyard Drill Sesh - Freezers are the simplest and most slept on drill IMO

I’ve got 3-4 maintenance drills and this one’s always on top.

50 million golfers. Sounds massive.

But how many of them are actually driving purchasing power in golf? How many are real, committed, hungry-to-improve golfers versus someone who played twice last summer and calls themselves a golfer?

If you're building in golf tech you've got a fundamental choice to make.

Chase that big, slightly vague number at the top of your TAM slide. Or niche down to the people who are actually spending — the ones looking for every tip, every piece of equipment, every edge they can get.

The second group is way easier to find. Because they are actively looking.

Get in front of them with a great offer and your chances of closing are far better than chasing someone looking for a cheap tee time at the local muni.

Dad life + Startup life can wear you down.

It's taken me nearly 14 years to figure out what I should be optimizing for.

I was always chasing energy but recently I’ve shifted to peace and patience.

If you’re a dad and can relate - let me know

Lesson takers spend 75 to 78% more at their facility.

And every dollar they spend is worth $2 across the business. That's the customer worth building for.

Stop chasing the TAM of "all golfers" 🏌️ The real money is in improvers, lesson takers who invest in their game for decades. I broke down exactly why (and how I built a business around it) in my latest video. Go watch it, link in bio.

Headcount doesn't equal asset.

A list of 100,000 people who said "I'm a golfer" is worth maybe 10 cents per lead to me.

A list of 100,000 verified lesson takers? I'd pay 100 times that. Without hesitation.

Here's why. That lesson taker — if I can get them into my portfolio of golf products — will buy not one, not two, but maybe 20, 30, 40 golf products in their lifetime if I keep giving them new things to try.

They're not a one-time sale. They're a lifetime relationship. Because they're constantly nerding out and want to get better. They'll take anything you can give them — as long as it delivers real results.

That is the beauty of building for the improver.

If you look across to other sports, they've got it more figured out than golf for one main reason. Seasons or what we call Periodization.

If you're scratching your head on why you're not getting better, a big reason why is that you're constantly in the technical phase, working on your swing rather than looking at changing your goal orientation around when you want to play your best.

Doing this on your own as a player is very difficult, but with the right coaching programs, this should be an absolute no-brainer.
