GAA Club playing hurling in Los Angeles, California - the only hurling club in the greater LA area. Hurling Club in Los Angeles. All skill levels are welcome!

Hurling is a fast-paced Irish stick sport played on a field. We have a few members who are former ice hockey and baseball players and they've picked up the basics of hurling quite quickly. We also have seasoned players who have been playing on GAA teams for years. Everyone is welcome no matter what your background, both men and women. 🇮🇪 There is nothing more Irish than playing hurling. Hurling is 3,000 years old and you can experience Ireland's National sport right here in LA!

🏃 Hurling is the sport for all athletes. It's fast paced like lacrosse, has similar hand eye coordination to baseball, and has the toughness of hockey, all in one sport.

🏒 Hurling is the grandfather sport to ice hockey. In Donegal in Ireland, the lakes would freeze over in winter. People adjusted to this weather and played hurling on ice during the winter. When the Irish moved to Canada in the 1840s, this "hurling on ice" concept was brought with them. Soon after, ice hockey was born.

🥎 We provide all the equipment and training for beginners. All you need to bring is water and we'll take care of the rest!

As the 2025 season draws to a close - we’re saying goodbye to 2 club legends who are moving on to greener pastures - huge thanks to James O’Neill and Conor Doherty for their contributions over the last few years - and congratulations to James for managing the team to 2 trophies this year. Back in July we welcomed .petershurlingsandiego to Los Angeles for a 1 day hurling tournament - The Angel City Invitational - a great day was had by all marking the return of competitive hurling to LA after an absence of over a decade. LA Abú!!!!

This club is for anyone looking to learn and play hurling in LA and meet other hurling enthusiasts. All skill levels welcome. Let's promote and support America's newest oldest sport!

Our mission is to teach the basics of hurling to newcomers to the sport. We created this group as a way for people to feel comfortable to learn the necessary skills so they feel comfortable to join a team when they're ready.

We're a fun group from various sporting backgrounds so if you’re interested in trying hurling, come join us!
