The Alcorn State University Cheerleading Program is officially headed to NCA College Camp 2026 at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas!

This summer, our athletes will have the opportunity to develop their skills, strengthen team unity, grow as leaders, and continue building a culture of excellence as we prepare for the 2026-2027 season.

As we prepare for Dallas, we would like to recognize and celebrate the outstanding efforts of our top fundraisers in the NCA Camp Bow Fundraiser!

🔥 HISTORY IN THE MAKING! 🔥

The Alcorn State University Braves Cheerleading Program and Southwest Community College Bears Cheerleading Program are excited to announce our 1st Ever In-Person Joint Summer Practice!

This collaborative practice will bring together two collegiate cheerleading programs for a morning of skill development, team building, leadership, and preparation for the upcoming season.

ALCORN STATE UNIVERSITY CHEERLEADING PROGRAM ENHANCES THE GAME DAY EXPERIENCE

LORMAN, MS — The Alcorn State University Cheerleading Program is proud to announce an exciting new structure for the 2026-2027 season that is designed to elevate the game day atmosphere and strengthen the overall fan experience.

Under the leadership of Head Coach Dr. Timothy D. Queen and Assistant Coach Ms. Kala Blanton, the program will feature three distinct units working together under one vision:

⭐ Co-Ed Team – Bringing energy, skill, and spirit to support the Braves and create an electrifying atmosphere on game days.

🎀 All-Girl Team – Showcasing excellence, tradition, and school pride while representing Alcorn State University with passion and distinction.

🏆 Competition Team – Comprised of elite athletes selected from both the Co-Ed and All-Girl teams to represent Alcorn State University in competitive cheerleading at the highest level.

This strategic enhancement reflects the program’s commitment to providing an unforgettable experience for students, alumni, fans, and supporters while continuing to build a championship culture.

The 2026-2027 program theme, “The Standard is the Standard: One Team. One Purpose. One Alcorn.”, serves as the foundation for the program’s vision of unity, excellence, accountability, and pride.

“Our goal is to create a game day environment that energizes Brave Nation while providing our student-athletes with opportunities to grow, lead, and compete at the highest level,” said Coach Queen. “This structure allows us to maximize talent, strengthen our program, and continue moving Alcorn Cheer forward.”

Alcorn Cheerleading Head Coach Dr. Timothy Queen announced on Monday, June 1, the Braves will be expanding the program to include both a co-ed and all-girl team for the 2026-27 athletic year.
