🥎SOFTBALL BOARD ANNOUNCEMENT! 🥎

We are looking for a few parents who are willing to step up and help make our softball program the best it can be! 💚

We are currently looking for the following positions:

📣 Vice President
💰 Treasurer

These positions are a great opportunity to get involved, support our girls, and help our softball program continue to grow! It takes more than coaches and players to build a successful program — we need our softball families involved too! 🥎💚

If you are interested in serving as Vice President or Treasurer, please reach out to our President Blayke Robinette. We would love to have parents who are willing to share their time, ideas, and support.

Let’s work together to make this a great season for our girls! 💚🥎

We will close this on Friday September 4th and begin voting on September 8th online.

Congratulations to your new softball president: Blayke Robinette! We are all very excited to see what will happen in the upcoming years!

ETA!!!! I stayed for an hour and fifteen minutes and nobody else came to vote! Voting is CLOSED! Final votes will be tallied and an announcement will be made soon!

Important information regarding vote!

Please note: only one vote per registered player is allowed!

Rashae’ Reid will be at the park next week on Tuesday, 8/11 and Thursday, 8/13, from 5-7. You can come see me and cast your vote, and the winner will be announced next weekend, after I talley the votes and inform the new president!

What you will be voting on: President.

Nobody was nominated for any other position, so President is the only position up for vote.

Treasurer-Collect all park fees, keep receipts of money received, issue invoices/receipts, maintain the BCGSA account and help keep things in order during the softball season.

President - Oversee meetings, to attend state meetings, to keep board members and reps informed on changes, to be available if a problem occurs, to remain current on any rules, to make sure all teams are registered with USSSA, to make sure reps have new rule books along with any special Blount County Rules and to be able to maintain order during the softball season. The President reserves the right to be the final executor of decisions and/or determine reconciliation of a situation requiring interpretation of rules, by-laws, coach discipline and/or umpire discipline.

Park Representative- Park reps are to attend meetings, approve schedules for their teams, keep their coaches informed on any rule changes, to pass out and collect rosters, to give all head coaches new rule books, to make sure head coaches know about any special Blount County Rules. Only 1 park rep can vote on any rules or problems that come up during the meetings and they are to help cut down on problems on a local level.

ATTENTION SOFTBALL PARENTS!!!

Important information regarding board positions that are up for vote:

These are TWO year terms. Please not that you can not be on both the baseball and the softball board, so please bear that in mind.

We will be accepting nominations from today until August 1st. You may submit nominations by sending a private message to the Locust Fork Youth Softball page. Board members will be available during the week of August 10th for you to come to the park and submit your vote. (Those days and times will be announced soon.)

I will also be posting a job description of each open position. PLEASE read before you volunteer for a position to know what is expected.

Hello, all!

Unfortunately, we will not be able to have fall softball this year. There will not be a Blount County fall league, but I will provide the links for two other teams if you are interested in playing. Our friends at Hayden and Oneonta will both be playing this fall, and I will put their links in the comments.

There will be announcements about board voting and bylaw changes soon, so please make sure you’re on the lookout for that information!

Come support our undefeated Locust Fork 10U take on Oneonta 1 at 6:30 at the LF park.
The winner will play tonight at 8:00 in the championship game of the Blount County Tournament for the 10U bracket.

❗️Board Voting Update/ Change❗️
Blount County Tournament schedule was released on Sunday. With 6U and 8U closing tournaments being this weekend, we will not be voting on Saturday, May 9th at the Block Party. We want to be sure all parents have the opportunity to attend. The interest form for a board position will still close Friday. LFYS Board is meeting this week to discuss another date for voting. We will post on Facebook and the head coaches groups soon with the updated information.
