So, I was blessed with a new design project… and this one felt really personal. 🤍
The moment I walked into this house, I saw past its age. I saw the charm. I saw the potential. And immediately, it was giving me cozy, coastal cottage vibes. I mean, it’s on the lake, it just made sense.
The budget was tight, so I personally took on the renovations myself. And when I say myself, I mean your girl has been painting, building, refinishing, installing and learning a few things along the way. 😂 I still have some tile work left on the backsplash, but I am literally THRILLED with how this kitchen turned out.
The client had one request: cozy cottage.
I think we understood the assignment.
Of course, this particular client also owns FAR too many clothes, shoes and boots, so naturally the guest bedroom had to become one giant walk-in closet. Priorities. 😂
And because she has cats? The sunroom is becoming an entire catio.
At this point you may have figured out who my very demanding client is…
Welcome to my new home. 🤍
Coming back to Hot Springs just made sense.
This is where I work every day. My parents are here. My friends are here. And I didn’t realize how much I missed being close to the water until I was back beside it again.
And while everything in my life is good, I’ve also realized something important: I don’t believe you have to live in the same space to sustain a relationship. Sometimes loving someone and loving yourself means allowing room for both people to have what they need.
This little house honestly just feels like me.
There is something magical about walking into a space you’ve created with your own hands and feeling completely at peace. It’s not perfect. It’s not finished. But neither am I. And somehow that makes me love it even more.
I’ve become incredibly invested in protecting my mental health, staying true to my own peace, and building a life that feels healthy and authentic to me. Being closer to my work, my parents, my friends and the community I love feels like where I’m supposed to be right now.
And I really, really love Hot Springs. ❤️
As for my relationship, I trust whatever God has planned for it. I don’t need to force an outcome or have every answer today. If it’s meant to continue, it will. If it’s part of His plan for my life, a different address isn’t going to change that.
For now, I’m trusting God, choosing peace, and creating a home, and a life, that feels like me.
Welcome home, Missy. 🤍
