5 weeks out
What are you made of?
Let me start by saying, it’s not perfect YET and it’s not as smooth as it WILL be.
Bodybuilding is much more mental than physical. When I look in the mirror, I’m not thinking, “look how good I look“. It’s more like an artist reflecting on an unfinished canvas. How could I do this different, what needs to change?
From week to week, the fat melts away. From week to week, I dig deeper into myself and deeper into God and wonder what I’m made of. Every layer I peel back, physically and figuratively, I find another unique character trait. At this phase, the process is not always fun, but it’s necessary for this goal. This translates to so many other areas of my life from business, to employment, to family, and Christianity or spirituality. “If you want to change the things in your life to change, you have to change the things in your life.“
My purpose and reasons may be different than yours, but for me, it takes drastic measures. It takes crazy goals for me to be disciplined enough to put in the work. A goal is only unrealistic without a plan. I’ve gotten this far by following simple instructions by somebody that offered me more knowledge than I possessed myself. When somebody hands you the keys to success, you use them to unlock the door, you don’t throw them away and try to kick the door down.
Find your why, find a mentor, and pursue the heck out of your goals. You will find yourself along the way.
