Message from the outgoing President
For the last 12 years I have been invested in LYSC and personally having held almost every volunteer position in the club. My two grown children played in the club and my youngest will remain in the program.
Having 18 players from my previous teams play college soccer and even more will continue to play from this year’s graduating class. I have taken on teams when there was no coach for players and giving them a place to play ensuring the players can stay together without leaving our community which has become very popular over the years.
I am very proud of the fact to have won 2 state cup titles for LYSC and have represented this club in regional competition and being the only coach to have every done that. We have completed many volunteer activities with these men through the years including Peters porch, Alzheimer’s walks and free clinics for younger players just to mention a few.
The club has started many new programs over the last few years that I am very proud to be part of.
It has been a great ride and knowing I have affected many kids some now adults is a great feeling and some of the most cherished memories of my life. I hope that everyone can and will find some time to help the club. I promise it will be very rewarding to you being part of your local club
Unfortunately, the board is moving in another direction. I just want to leave you with one of the greatest pieces of advice I have learned is to just have fun. Remember, your kids know when they didn’t have a good game. There is no reason to remind, scold or lecture them. They already know. When your child becomes an adult don’t let their soccer memories be of a pushy parent but rather that parent that has been nothing but supportive. At the end of the day all these kids move on to their own lives.
