The day after the season never gets easier. We spend months focused on the present, pouring everything we have into the moment—and then it’s suddenly over.
I’m never fully prepared for that final "speech", because you prepare to compete, not to reflect on the season you had. But with a little time to reflect, I’m reminded that what we built TOGETHER was special in so many ways.
The Panthers end the season at 16–16 overall and 5–4 in SCC play. Those numbers only tell part of the story.
What did this group accomplish?
• Most wins since 2016–17
• Most conference wins since 2016–17
• Won 8 of our final 10 games, playing our best basketball when it mattered most.
This season was built by more than just the players on the floor. Thank you to the small army of workers who make it possible for us to host games during the regular season and regionals. I’m reminded of the old saying, “It takes a village,” and it truly does take a village to run an athletic department.
A special thank you to our AD, James Moore, for his constant support and leadership, and to our activities custodian, Greg McKay, for his time, dedication, and commitment throughout a very busy season.
Parents and families: Thank you for your unwavering support and encouragement. We are incredibly blessed to have such a committed group of families. Thank you for trusting us and for allowing us to dedicate our time to what we love.
Team: Thank you for fighting through early adversity and never giving up. The start of the season was challenging at times, but your resilience, toughness, and belief in one another defined who you became. You stayed together, kept working, and it showed down the stretch.
Coaches: Thank you to my entire coaching staff. The season began in September with middle school basketball and came to a close last night. There is absolutely no way we accomplish what we did without your commitment, preparation, and countless hours invested behind the scenes.
And finally, a huge thank you to our senior, Madi Jenkins. Thank you for your time and commitment to basketball the past 4 years. We will miss you next year, but we hope to see you back in the gym at some 🏀 games cheering us on.
The work doesn’t stop here. Planning for next season has already begun, and we’re excited to get back in the gym this summer as we take the next step toward our goals.
Proud of this group—past, present, and future.
