I just want to pause for a second and say thank you. Every single one of you.

For this being our first tournament in many, many years, you would’ve thought we’ve been doing this forever. It ran smooth. It ran organized. It ran with pride.

The feedback meant a lot too. The MMWA staff had nothing but great things to say about how everything was handled. The refs echoed it. Even parents and coaches from other teams were making comments about how well it was run. That doesn’t happen by accident.

That happens because people show up.

Coaches. Board members. Parents. Extended family. Friends. The ones running tables. The ones setting up at 6am. The ones cleaning up at the end when everyone’s tired. All of you.

What happened today wasn’t just a tournament. It was a shift. We raised the standard. We showed what this program is capable of. And I truly believe this is going to impact how Lake Fenton wrestling looks for years to come.

From the entire coaching staff and board, thank you.

Calling on my wrestling family 🤝

This year, for the month of November, my office is partnering with LaFontaine Auto for our annual No Shave November fundraiser.

Last year, together we were able to raise $30,000 for a local family facing the devastating reality of a cancer diagnosis. Your support made a real impact—half of the funds went directly to the family we sponsored, and the other half supported a local nonprofit that helps hospitals secure grants in the ongoing fight to find a cure.

This year, we’re aiming even higher. 🙏

💰 Cost:
• $150 (includes custom singlet + USA wrestling card)
• $50 off each additional wrestler from the same household
• $50 volunteer check (returned after helping at our home tournament)

The parent meeting will cover all season details, Q&A, and coaching opportunities.
Practices will be held at Lake Fenton High School (schedule TBD).

Today’s Battle of the Bags fundraiser was an overwhelming success!
We had a day full of laughs, smack talk, friendship, and growth. 🫶🏽💪🏼

A huge shoutout to Cobblestone Bar and Grille for hosting such an amazing event — the layout was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Thank you to everyone who came out, from the players bringing the competitive energy, to the spectators cheering from the sidelines, and of course, to our incredible sponsors who make events like this possible. 🙌🏼

With the funds raised, we’ll continue building this program toward our full vision. We’re especially excited to host our first home tournament in many years on Valentine’s Day ❤️, and these funds will help make that a reality.

At the end of the day, everyone showed up for one reason — THE KIDS — and that’s what it’s all about. 🫡👊🏼
