Jacob started 8th in the heat race and spent the first couple laps playing bumper cars before finally starting to make some forward progress. Unfortunately, a cut brake line and the car was way too loose, and on the final lap he found himself in the tire in Turn 4. We also heard there was a cat living in that tire, and we’re happy to report it ran off and lived to tell the tale! 😅

The team went to work and got the car back together for the B Feature. Jacob started 5th and drove his way to the win, putting him starting 16th in the A.

The comeback was short-lived, though. Just a few laps into the A Feature, the driveshaft let go in Turn 3, taking the transmission with it and ending our night early.

It was one of those nights where if it can go wrong, it will. Sometimes racing tests your patience as much as your equipment. We’ll regroup, get everything fixed up, and be ready to take another swing next week.

Well… turns out Jacob’s racing skills qualify him to drive a bus too 🚌

Somehow they trusted him with a whole bus. What could possibly go wrong?! 🤪

It's official. Here's the school bus drivers for this Saturday, May 30th. We did a drawing out of the top ten in points for each class to determine the drivers.

Heat 1: 1st ➡️ 2nd, I lost to the V18w. I loosened up way too much based off hot laps. Should have never done that. Oh well. Live and learn

A Feature: 8th ➡️ 5th, I was passing for third and a caution came out. Restarted 4th and got passed on the top and finished 5th. Very solid weekend for us! Hope we can keep the momentum going!

Congrats to Cole Wayman on the win! Our car has been pretty good to start the year. Our LF shock went dead during the feature and that didn’t help my car at all. We will wash and maintenance and do all over again tonight! Thank you to everyone that is involved in this program! Thanks to Dan Wayman for helping change everything to get our miss figured out. Thanks to Tyler Jackson for by passing my toggle switch. Have some things to address next week but hope for good finish today!

We wanted to give everyone an update on Jacob and what’s been going on the last couple weeks.

On Wednesday, April 1, Jacob woke up with extreme pain in his right elbow. It was very red, swollen, and hot to the touch. We were initially told by the ER it was some type of infection and sent home with antibiotics.

By the next day, things had gotten significantly worse. After seeing our primary doctor, he told us Jacob would need surgical intervention and sent us to Nebraska Orthopaedic Center. They confirmed the severity and scheduled surgery for Friday, April 3.

During surgery, they made about a 6-inch incision to clean out the infection in his joint, removed the bursa sac, and partially closed the incision with stitches, leaving about a 2-inch section open to drain. This open portion will take time—days, weeks, and possibly months—to fully heal.

Jacob has been out of work due to the surgery and lifting restrictions, but we’re happy to say he is healing well and gets to return to work this coming Monday.

With that being said, he won’t be racing the Ice Breaker this weekend. But he will be back for the season opener next week.

We truly appreciate all the support, prayers, and check-ins. It means more than you know. 💚
