🏀 Thank You for an Incredible Summer! 🏀

As our summer basketball season comes to a close, I want to extend a sincere thank you to all of our players and parents who made this summer such a success. This was, without a doubt, one of the busiest and most rewarding summers our program has had. Your commitment, hard work, and willingness to show up every day helped make it a tremendous experience for everyone involved.

Now it's time to turn our attention to Fall Basketball!

Fall Basketball is open to boys in Grades 3–12.
🏀 Grades 3–8: Games are typically played on Saturdays.
🏀 High School: Games are typically played on Sundays.

Each team will generally play two games on their scheduled day each weekend.

Once registration is complete and we have final numbers, we'll determine team placements and any associated costs.

Thank you again for making this summer so memorable. We appreciate your dedication to our program and can't wait to get started this fall as we continue preparing for another exciting winter basketball season.

What an incredible Loonfest Weekend of Basketball!

We kicked things off Thursday night with our Alumni Games, and the atmosphere in the Mattanawcook Academy gym set the tone for what became an unforgettable weekend. Over the course of three days, we hosted more than 100 basketball games across four gyms, welcoming over 40 teams from around the state to Lincoln.

Events like this simply do not happen without an incredible team of people working behind the scenes.

A huge thank you to Pat House and his wife for the countless hours they dedicated throughout the weekend—running the grill, organizing concessions, helping with admissions, and jumping in wherever they were needed. Your commitment never went unnoticed.

Thank you to the Mattanawcook Academy Girls Basketball families for their tremendous volunteer efforts, and to our Mattanawcook Academy Boys Basketball families for donating items, volunteering at stations, and helping make the tournament a success. Your willingness to give your time is what makes events like this possible.

Thank you to Danielle Neal, and the local Dunkin for helping the event run on Dunkin, and giving back to both the boys and girls programs.

Thank you the Coach Lindsay and MA Wrestling for helping get donations for concessions and helping spread the word of our event.

A special thank you to my wife, who spent countless hours running the scoreboard throughout the weekend, and to my two boys, who were always willing to lend a hand wherever it was needed. I couldn't be more appreciative of your support.

Thank you to the 14 officials who worked throughout the weekend. Your professionalism and dedication allowed over 100 games to be played successfully, and we are grateful for everything you do for our game.

To Randy Harris and Lee Academy, and Kevin Giberson and Stearns High School, thank you for opening your gyms and partnering with us. Your willingness to host games helped make this tournament possible and reflects the spirit of collaboration and community that makes basketball in our region so special.

🏀 TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT! 🏀

The alumni have dusted off their basketball shoes, stretched every muscle they could find, and are ready to hit the hardwood one more time!

Join us tonight as former Lynx and Lady Lynx players return to Mattanawcook Academy to take on today's Boys and Girls Basketball teams in a fun-filled evening celebrating our program's past, present, and future.

We're excited to have Coach Lucas Turner leading the Boys Alumni squad and Coach Ron Weatherbee guiding the Girls Alumni team as they look to prove they've still got what it takes!

🚗 Loonfest Tournament Parking & Traffic Information – Saturday

If you are traveling to Lincoln on Saturday for the 2nd Annual Loonfest Basketball Tournament, please review the important parking and traffic information below.

Saturday will be an exciting—but extremely busy—day in Lincoln. The tournament will feature 50 basketball games across four gyms, while the Town of Lincoln celebrates Loonfest, including the annual parade and evening fireworks.

Please share the following information with your players and families before traveling.

🏀 Teams Playing at Mattanawcook Academy

Schools:

Hampden Academy
MDI (Boys & Girls)
Bangor Christian
Foxcroft Academy (Girls)
Maranacook (Boys & Girls)

Please enter campus using the Ella P. Burr School driveway.

Parking is available:

Ella P. Burr School parking lot
Beside Ella P. Burr School
Teacher parking lot
Behind Mattanawcook Academy by driving around the school

Important: The main parking lot adjacent to Mattanawcook Academy will be closed Saturday morning for Loonfest Parade staging.

Parade staging begins Saturday morning.
The parade starts at approximately 11:00 AM.
The main parking lot is expected to reopen around 12:00 PM once staging has concluded.

Calais (Girls)
Old Town

Parking at the school will remain available until approximately 10:45 AM.

At that time, Main Street through Lincoln will close for the Loonfest Parade.

Roads are expected to reopen at approximately 12:00 PM.

🏀 Teams Playing at Lee Academy

Schools:

Belfast
Hodgdon
Madison
Mount View
Orono

Lee Road will be closed from approximately 10:45 AM until 12:00 PM due to the parade.

If your team has a morning game, please plan to arrive before the road closure to avoid delays.

We took these temporary traffic closures into consideration while building the tournament schedule in an effort to minimize travel during the closure window.
