Highlighting our 2026 Hall of Fame Inductees:
Today we celebrate Blake White! While at Lexington High School, Blake was a member of the Track and Field program as well as the Boys Cross Country team. He won multiple State Championship titles as part of the 2012 Lexington Boys Track State Championship Team and the Boys Cross Country team from 2009 - 2012, and finished his high school career earning 8 Varsity Letters.
When asked about Mr. White, his former Cross Country coach Bailey Harris said "Blake always found a way to have his best performance when it counted most".
The 3 time All - State Cross Country runner did just that, finishing as a top 5 finisher in four consecutive years, to help his team win four consecutive cross country state championships. Blake White is the only athlete at LHS to accomplish this feat. When asked about the first thing that comes to mind about his time as a Wildcat, he said " The night before the 2012 Track and Field State Championships, my grandfather passed away. During that difficult time, I was fortunate to have the support of my coaches and teammates, who helped me persevere and compete in the 3,200-meter race. I ultimately placed third in the event, while our team went on to win the 4A State Team Championship".
One of the things that makes this Hall of Fame Inductee stand out, is that not only was he a State Champion in Cross Country, but he was a 3 time All - State selection in the 3200m and State Champion in Track and Field. Mr. White was a member of the 4x800 m relay the year the Boys Track and Field team won state.
Wearing the blue and gold leaves a mark - the time and commitment student athletes give to their sports and teams. Mr. White shared what it means to him to be a Wildcat: "I had the opportunity to compete on some of the strongest cross-country teams in South Carolina history, winning four consecutive 4A State Championships from 2009 through 2012. I believe those accomplishments were possible because of the work ethic, commitment, and pride each member of our team brought to the program. We consistently challenged one another to improve and pushed each other to become the best athletes and teammates we could be".
"Lexington High School athletics helped me pay for school as I went on to compete at the collegiate level; where I ultimately met my wife, and laid the groundwork to attend graduate school. I firmly believe that, when used properly, athletics can help kids build the work ethic to excel in whatever they set out to do in their life or career after high school. Being inducted into the Hall of Fame is a privilege!"
When asked who or what had the biggest impact on him during his time at LHS he answered " The culture of excellence reinforced by Coach Bailey Harris, Coach Mike Wendt, other staff members is something that still sticks with me today: In whatever you do, do it to the best of your ability".
Mr. White continued his athletic and academic success at Winthrop University where he was a member of the Track and Field and Cross Country teams, graduating with a B.A. in 2017. After undergrad Mr. White attended Cornell University, graduating in 2019 with a Masters of Industrial & Labor Relations. He now works in Human Resources for the Hershey Company and lives in Fort Mill South Carolina with his wife (Jessie) and golden retriever (Penny).
Congratulations Blake!
