A reminder photo of just how rough the pavement at the Lexington skateboard park was before repaving in 2021. Tomorrrow morning starting at 8 am we will be spreading a literal ton of sealer on it to beautify and protect it. If you have the time and ability to spare please consider coming to help for a while. We function off of volunteerism, donations, raised funds, and grants. Our efforts this year alone have reached at least 1.8 percent of the Rockbridge County population. There is a need and purpose for this place and the people it serves.

Last year we started on a mission to finally get the Lexington Skatepark spine ramp rideable for riders of all abilities. The entry edges had a terrible wrinkle that was awkward for any rider going back at least to 2002. In coordination with Lexington Public Works and in great gratitude they have followed up last year's efforts by installing 2 steel plates we provided to eliminate flex as well as backed that effort up with a healthy concrete pour inside. Now it's time to finish the job. We'll be there Saturday and Sunday morning from about 8 to 11 am grinding the old paint and hopefully giving it a great new paint job. If you'd like to volunteer, have tools to share, et cetera get in touch or just show up. We're all volunteers here. Our payment is watching this park grow and get better and it doesn't get much better than correcting something that has been an issue for the last 20ish years.
