1-0 Northern York win

It was a physical match tonight that our boys gutted out but lost 1-0. We didn’t challenge a ball that bounced outside our box and they made us pay for it for their goal early in the first half. We had some unfortunate injuries that happened tonight that added to our list already. All our guys never gave up, never quit and kept fighting. In the second half we trusted our play more, which did create some things, but couldn’t get through the final line to equalize. We had guys we couldn’t get subs for at times and they gutted it out. We are proud of our boys for the effort and know they will keep on working as some guys get healthier and join us.

Hershey 2
Mifflin County Huskies Field Hockey 0

The Mifflin County Field Hockey team fell 2-0 in a physical matchup against the Hershey Trojans Tuesday night.

Traveling to the defending state quarterfinalists, Mifflin County conceeded an early goal before playing the next thirty minutes to a dead even draw. Freshman forward Jemma Kanagy drew a well-earned Trojan green card to give the Huskies a player advantage, but it wasn't enough as Hershey added another to win 2-0.

Senior Mya Felmlee was fantastic in cage with a career high 29 (!) saves. Mya's effort takes her season total over 100 just 6 games into her first year campaign. Senior captain Aubree Dobson added two defensive saves, taking her season total to 9. Jemma, sister and senior captain Jayda and junior Adalyn Amspacker led the Huskies with three shots on goal a piece.

In the preceeding JV game, Quinnie Williams opened up the game with another goal, her fourth in just two days. The Trojans depth again played a huge part in this game as the Huskies are straddled with just one substitute due to injury. Hershey pulled away and won 3-1.

After a blitz to start the season (6 games in 9 days), the Huskies finally have a few days off before hosting Red Land on Tuesday September 15th.
