Well so far all the deer seasons have been fun, hard & kinda depressing. I've had opportunities that I blew, but that's hunting. I can't remember a year that I haven't gotten at least 1 deer. I still have 1 season left after Christmas to get it done. It's going to be harder this time of year but I'm not giving up yet. Good luck everyone!! Be Safe and Shoot Straight!!

My view for this morning. No deer seen yet. I've heard 85 shots and nothing close enough to get excited about. I'm hunting with my brother Matt and our nephew Devin. Good luck everyone and Shoot Straight and Be Safe!!!

Ok well unfortunately I couldn't stay out very long this morning because I have things I need to do today. I didn't see any wildlife. I spoke briefly with a couple of our local game commissioners on my drive out and seen a few vehicles parked along the road. I didn't hear any shooting. But then again the wind was HOWLING!! on the north side of the mountain. I did enjoy my views for the morning. I felt like I was on a black bear hunt out west watching over a clearing. When you don't have any luck with the deer. You try your luck with the squirrels. 1 in the bag already. I'm hunting with my grandfather's 22 single shot that my Dad bought for him at a flea market so he could shoot armadillos in Texas. It still shoots true!

Bucks are moving today. At 9:00 this guy walked across the field. At 9:12 another one did the same thing. At 9:18 a 4 point walked 20 yards in front of Blind. On vacation next week. I think I picked the right week....MattR
