If you live in Lewisburg Ward 2...
I am running for re-election.
On May 16, please write my name in on the Democratic or Republican ballot. As far as I know, no one else is running.
Why write-in? When petitions were due, I was not sure if I would be here to serve a full term. A new job changed things. Plus, no one else filed paperwork.
Why either party? Call it a small step for bipartisan or nonpartisan leadership. Ideology shouldn't really matter when it comes to community safety, transit, parks, policing, taxes, business development, arts support, and quality of life.
Stuff we did I am proud of...
No tax raises for 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 even as we expanded services and undertook major projects like improving sidewalks, street tree coverage, park improvements, emergency siren notification system, rail trail connection through downtown, and support for Lewisburg Neighborhoods and the Downtown Business partnership.
Goals I'd like to see Borough undertake.
More and better flood resilience
Lead on local climate response
Non-discrimination ordinance covering LGBQT
Move streets towards more wholistic pedestrian-cycle-car use
More long range planning involving more people in community
Denser and "in-fill" housing as part of tax base and sustainable growth
DOG PARK
Block parties
Market Street and other street calming as we can
More communication on more platforms with y'all.
