What an amazing and historic 2025-2026 Cape swim season this has been!!!

Last Sunday, the Cape Henlopen Swim Team gathered at Dewey Beach Hyatt for the Swim Awards Banquet to celebrate our amazing swimmers & their accomplishments this season!

Coach Geppert recapped this season, and along with coaches Danese, Diguglielmo, Brokaw & Olson, handed out this season’s awards & special recognitions.

7 Cape Team records were broken this season:
50 Free by Mia Jaoude
200 Free Relay by Sidney Caldwell, Lily Touw, Isla Touw, Mia Jaoude
400 Free Relay by Sidney Caldwell, Isla Touw, Hayden Hazzard, Mia Jaoude
50 Free & 100 Fly by Brady Schell
100 Free & 100 Breast by Jaxen Edwards

The Girls team came in 3rd at the State Championship, the highest they’ve ever ranked in team history, & the Boys team came in 6th. The Girls 200 Free Relay of Sidney Caldwell, Lily Touw, Isla Touw, Mia Jaoude won the championship relay. Mia Jaoude became the first individual swim state champion in Cape’s history by winning the 50 Free.

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to the Cape HS Girls Swim Team for placing 3rd overall in the State with only 6 swimmers competing at Finals! They emobodied the true definition of tiny but mighty!

Senior Sidney Caldwell sang the National Anthem at the Girls Finals Session.

Junior Mia Jaoude was awarded the DIAA student-athlete academic award and became the first Cape swimmer ever to win a State Championship in an individual event!

Our very own Coach Gep was voted Girls Swim Coach of the Year!
