Lemoore California Bujinkan Hello, my name is Dustin Roe. I am starting the Lemoore Bujinkan group. That same summer, I left for Navy boot camp in an effort to better my life.

I began training in the Bujinkan in the fall of 2005 under my first instructor, Dusty Alexander. In the summer of 2009, I earned my first-degree black belt, receiving the title of Shodan. I continued training long-distance with my former instructor until 2015. In 2014, I met my now-wife, Michelle, and her son, Elliott. We were married in 2015. During that time, we built a family together, experien

cing both joy and heartbreak along the way. In 2016, my wife and I faced one of the hardest challenges of our lives—the loss of our oldest daughter at 16 weeks. That grief led me into a deep depression that lasted a couple of years. But through that darkness, we were blessed with two amazing daughters: Clara, born in 2018, and our youngest, born in 2020. In 2021, I began training again on my own—life tends to push us that way with three small kids. Then in 2023, as our children grew a bit older, I resumed formal training under my current instructor, Dai Shihan Jeff Schintgen. In July 2024, I earned the rank of Nidan, and on July 18, 2025, I was promoted to Sandan. This is the story of my journey in the Bujinkan, and how my training has woven through the joys and struggles of life.
