Luke Williams Leads Hicks Varsity Pirate Past Simsboro Varsity Tigers

Luke Williams was dominant on the mound, as the starting pitcher rang up 15 strikeouts in Hicks Varsity Pirate's 2-1 victory over Simsboro Varsity Tigers on Saturday at Leesville Recreation Complex. Williams allowed two hits and one run over seven innings while walking two.
Both teams were strong on the bump. Hicks Varsity Pirate pitchers struck out 15, while Simsboro Varsity Tigers sat down three.
Hicks Varsity Pirate got on the board in the first inning after Williams singled, scoring one run.
Hicks Varsity Pirate added one run in the second after Simsboro Varsity Tigers committed an error.
Chris Harrell hit a solo home run to right field in the top of the fourth for the Simsboro Varsity Tigers.
Noah Thomas took the loss for Simsboro Varsity Tigers. The hurler went six innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out three and walking four.
Wesley Marshall, Addison Coffman, Kane Hagan, and Williams each collected one hit for Hicks Varsity Pirate. Williams led Hicks Varsity Pirate with one run batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-1 on the day. Hicks Varsity Pirate were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Hagan made the most plays with 15.
Harrell and Braylon Gipson were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Simsboro Varsity Tigers. Harrell led Simsboro Varsity Tigers with one run batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Simsboro Varsity Tigers turned one double play in the game.
