Fitness, when used as a discipline to glorify God, serves a greater purpose — it becomes bigger than aesthetics, weight loss or muscle gain.
The purpose becomes WORSHIP.
Not worship for self or vanity.
I’m talking about worship for God.
The Bible defines worship as honoring, revering, and surrendering oneself to God in love, obedience, and devotion. It is far deeper than singing songs in church or kneeling on the ground in submission; it involves the posture of your heart, direction you’re going in life, and the submission of your will to God.
Romans 12:1 “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service of worship.”
Biblically, worship is offering your life to God—your body, choices, habits, and actions.
Your lifestyle becomes an act of devotion.
Your fitness becomes an act of devotion.
Every training session serves an opportunity to die to self — sacrifice laziness, insecurity, pride and comfort. In practice, this act mirrors its spiritual parallel: Dying to self.
Fitness, when given to God, rises as a daily declaration that your life belongs to him.
