Float Potomac was founded in Spring of 2025 by Connor Ravencraft and Jarod Golub, with the goal of providing scenic wildlife tours and fishing excursions from kayaks in the waters of the Upper Potomac River. Connor is an experienced angler that has been fishing this stretch of the Nation’s river for 15 years by jetboat and kayaks/canoes. He has guided fishing and kayaking kids camps for the Fairfa

x County Park Authority (FCPA) for 2 years. Currently (year 3), He works as a guide and Instructor in river kayaking and at Orvis. Jarod is an avid paddler with over 15 years of experience in paddlesports. For the last 6 years he has worked as the Marina Supervisor and Kayak Instructor at Riverbend Park (FCPA). As the manager of all the county’s paddling programs on the Potomac he is responsible for ensuring the safety of novice paddlers on a daily basis and guides more experienced ones on wildlife and fishing tours as well. Both Connor and Jarod are Level 2 River Kayaking Instructors certified by the American Canoe Association and possess current CPR and First Aid Certifications and boating licenses.
