The Leechburg Pirates bring home their first ARL playoff win!!!!! On to the semifinals!!!!! Beyond proud of these kids!!

Max S’s Big Day Propels Leechburg Pirates Past Deer Lakes 1

Max S collected three hits in four at bats, as Leechburg Pirates defeated Deer Lakes(1) 13-5 on Tuesday. Max doubled in the fifth inning, doubled in the first inning, and singled in the second inning.

Leechburg Pirates scored seven runs in the fifth inning on the way to victory. Max doubled, scoring one run, Matthew G singled, scoring one run, Teymon S drew a walk, scoring one run, Stephen M singled, scoring one run, a steal of home scored one run, Maddox M singled, scoring one run, and Junior J grounded out, scoring one run.

A steal of home by Max put Leechburg Pirates on the board in the top of the first.

Leechburg Pirates added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Junior walked, Max singled, Teymon walked, Stephen singled to left field, and Maddox walked, each scoring one run.

Matthew stepped on the bump first for Leechburg Pirates. The righty surrendered one hit and five runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking eight. Wyatt M started the game for Deer Lakes 1. The pitcher allowed three hits and six runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking nine. Maddox pitched two innings of zero-run ball for Leechburg Pirates in relief. The righty surrendered one hit, striking out four and walking four.

Teymon led Leechburg Pirates with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 12 walks for the game. Teymon, Junior, Matthew, Max, Maddox, Stephen, and Daxton L each stole multiple bases for Leechburg Pirates. Leechburg Pirates ran wild on the base paths, accumulating 24 stolen bases for the game. Leechburg Pirates were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Max made the most plays with 12.

Vincent B and Coleson T each collected one hit for Deer Lakes 1. Vincent, Coleson, Todd R, Austin N, and Benjamin F each drove in one run for Deer Lakes 1. Noah G led Deer Lakes 1 with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 12 walks for the game. Vincent and Noah each stole multiple bases for Deer Lakes 1. Deer Lakes 1 stole seven bases in the game. Deer Lakes 1 were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Vincent made the most plays with eight.

What do the Rebels do on a drizzly Saturday when the away team no-shows?

Simple. They call the Outlaws, mix the teams up Sandlot-style, crank up the walk-up songs, fire up the concessions stand, and turn it into an old-school baseball day anyway. ⚾️🔥

No wasted Saturday around here.

You’ve got kids playing ball, music blasting, parents hanging out, concession stand rolling, and coaches trying to convince themselves they could still hit a fastball if needed.

Honestly, this is the kind of stuff youth baseball is all about. A little drizzle, a little chaos, and a whole lot of fun.

Rebels vs. Outlaws… sort of. 😂

Leechburg Pirates Defeat Springdale 1

Leechburg Pirates outsted Springdale 1 6-5 on Wednesday.

Leechburg Pirates were the first to get on the board in the second when Beau E singled, scoring two runs.

Springdale 1 tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a double by Jace D, and a walk by Mason W.

In the top of the fifth, Leechburg Pirates broke up the tie when Stephen M doubled, scoring two runs. Then a walk by Maddox M followed to extend the lead to 6-3.

Matthew G stepped on the bump first for Leechburg Pirates. The righty allowed four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out nine and walking three. Noah M started on the bump for Springdale 1. The starter gave up five hits and three runs over four innings, striking out 11 and walking three. Junior J appeared in relief for Leechburg Pirates.

Stephen led Leechburg Pirates with two runs batted in. The third baseman went 2-for-3 on the day. Junior paced Leechburg Pirates with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game. Matthew and Kennamae G each stole multiple bases for Leechburg Pirates. Leechburg Pirates stole 12 bases in the game. Leechburg Pirates didn't commit a single error in the field. Max S had the most chances in the field with 10.

Jace provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Springdale 1 with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 3-for-3 on the day. Jace F collected two hits for Springdale 1 in three at bats. Jace and Jace each stole multiple bases for Springdale 1. Springdale 1 stole nine bases in the game. Springdale 1 were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Dominic C had the most chances in the field with 13.

Leechburg Pirates took down Deer Lakes (3) 8-4 on Tuesday.

Deer Lakes 3 opened the scoring in the first after Bentley S singled, scoring one run.

Junior J grounded out, which helped Leechburg Pirates tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

Leechburg Pirates captured the lead, 5-1, in the bottom of the third when Max S singled, scoring one run, Daxton L tripled, scoring one run, and Maddox M singled, scoring two runs.

Maddox earned the win for Leechburg Pirates. The hurler allowed two hits and two runs over one inning, striking out two and walking two. Matthew G led things off on the bump for Leechburg Pirates. The pitcher allowed six hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking three. Hudson H led things off on the bump for Deer Lakes 3. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and one run over two innings, striking out four and walking two.

Leechburg Pirates piled up 10 hits in the game. Max, Maddox, Daxton, and Jax each collected two hits for Leechburg Pirates. Max and Daxton each drove in two runs for Leechburg Pirates. Junior, Max, Maddox, Stephen M, Daxton, and Beau E each stole multiple bases for Leechburg Pirates. Leechburg Pirates stole 20 bases in the game. Leechburg Pirates turned one double play in the game.

Number seven hitter, Brady b, showed the depth of Deer Lakes 3's lineup, by leading them with three hits in three at bats. Bentley and Brady each drove in one run for Deer Lakes 3. Brendan H collected two hits for Deer Lakes 3 in three at bats. Brendan stole two bases. Deer Lakes 3 ran wild on the base paths, piling up eight stolen bases for the game. Deer Lakes 3 didn't commit a single error in the field. Gunnar M had the most chances in the field with seven.

Leechburg Pirates will travel to Springdale 1 for their next game on Thursday.

I’m going to be honest…

I’m sitting here tonight completely exhausted.
Physically drained. Mentally spent.
And I have a feeling a whole lot of other people are about to sleep real good tonight too.

But man… was it worth it.

Today wasn’t just Opening Day.

Today felt like something bigger.

To everyone who came out and filled those fields with energy, laughter, and support…
thank you.

You didn’t just attend an event.
You helped bring this place to life.

There were moments today you just can’t plan for…
Kids hearing their names called and taking off across the field like it was the biggest moment of their life…
Parents trying to snap pictures while holding back emotions…
Old teammates, old friends, alumni coming back and standing in the same place they once played…

That’s the stuff that hits you.

That’s what this is all about.

To our players: you are the heartbeat of everything we’re building. The excitement in your eyes today said it all.

To our families: thank you for trusting us, supporting your kids, and showing up the way you did. The stands, the sidelines, the atmosphere… you made it.

To our sponsors: what you do matters more than you probably even realize. You’re not just putting names on shirts… you’re helping build something that kids will remember for the rest of their lives.

To our vendors and everyone behind the scenes: from early morning setup to the last thing packed up… thank you for grinding through the day with us.

And to our volunteers and board members:

You already know.

The early mornings.
The late nights.
The stress.
The last-minute problems.
The “we’ll figure it out” moments.

You gave everything you had to make today what it was.

And tonight… you earned that sleep.

The kind where your head hits the pillow and you’re out in 30 seconds.

That’s what putting your heart into something feels like.

And then seeing all of our alumni back on that field today…

That one hit different.

75 years of Leechburg baseball.
Generations. Memories. Stories.
And today, we added another chapter.

This is why we do it.

Not for records.
Not for standings.
Not for anything other than giving these kids a place to be kids, have fun, and feel like they’re part of something.

Kids First. Always.
