People often ask me about my journey in martial arts, and I'm excited to share that I've had the privilege of training with several exceptional instructors since 1983. My first instructor was Shihan Bill Bressaw from Fords, NJ, where I earned my yellow belt in Shukokai at just 12 years old. After my family moved to Phillipsburg, NJ, I continued my training with Shihan Al Smith Senior and Sensei Marci Smith in Easton, PA, eventually earning my 2nd Degree Black Belt in the Red Dragon Karate System. My passion for martial arts only grew stronger during my time in the Marines, where I competed throughout North and South Carolina. Upon my return, I began teaching martial arts to adults with mental and physical challenges, and later connected with Master Irv Althouse, who introduced me to new techniques and perspectives. After Master Irv's dojo was flooded, I trained with Shihan Scott Lechki, who further expanded my knowledge of the Red Dragon style. I'm proud to say that I'm now a Master 5th Degree Black Belt, and I'm grateful for the incredible instructors who have guided me along the way.
