Shield of Calvary is a church security/safety resource created to help local churches build a safe and welcoming place for worship, fellowship, and ministry. Our goal is simple: to share practical resources, helpful training insights, and relevant information that support churches in protecting their members and guests—without losing the heart of a Christ centered environment.
Shield of Calvary is led by Jason Wells, Security Director for Calvary Baptist Church, who has over 15 years of experience serving in church security. Jason has a strong passion for servant leadership, preparedness, and responsible safety practices that fit the unique mission of the local church.
Jason is a certified NRA Fi****ms Instructor and Refuse To Be a Victim Instructor, providing security teams with practical and responsible safety training. He also holds certifications in Security Management, CCTV Monitoring, and Door Supervision, giving him a well-rounded background in physical security, situational awareness, and team leadership.
Through Shield of Calvary, churches are encouraged to strengthen their security/safety teams with wisdom, professionalism, and a genuine heart for protection—all while staying grounded in God’s Word and focused on caring for His people.
