Welcome #27 Josie "Jo Money" Schwertz!

An absolute dawg on the diamond! She brings that electric energy, work ethic, and a great attitude with her everywhere she goes and knows what it takes to win when the lights are brightest. To say our team and coaches are excited is an understatement.

🥎 MEET THE COACHES: Conclusion!🥎

Last, but certainly not least: Coach Joey 👋

🔹Role on the team:
Turtlebox Coordinator, Fungo-Hitting Facilitator, Practice-Idea Supervisor, Spray Chart Team Lead, Pop-Up Tent Operations Manager and Assistant Recruiting Coordinator. Basically, I’m in charge of everything except making important decisions.

🔹Softball background:
I’m entering my 16th year as a high school baseball coach and my fourth as a head coach. I’ve been blessed to be part of several playoff runs and district championships while working alongside some of the best programs in the Houston area. I’m now attempting to apply that experience to the highly competitive world of 8U softball.

🔹Coaching superpower:
Coordinating elaborate dugout celebrations after we score a run. Choreography, timing and enthusiasm are taken very seriously.

🔹Favorite part of coaching:
Watching how the game helps shape kids, their confidence, resilience, teamwork and ability to recover after drawing pictures in the dirt instead of watching the pitch.

🔹Most likely to:
Offer an umpire friendly assistance on a bang-bang play and provide a detailed explanation of the game’s more intricate rules, whether that assistance was requested or not.

🔹Fun fact:
Softball and baseball have much more in common than most people think. I plan to continue researching the differences until I finally understand what the softball cheers mean.

Texas Crush officially kicked off our season with our FIRST organization practice, and these girls came ready to WORK! 💪❤️🤍💙

It was HOT out there ☀️🔥, but our girls didn’t let the heat slow them down! They pushed through, worked hard, listened, and showed up ready to get better. We couldn’t be more proud of the effort they gave today!

This is just the beginning, and we already see the potential, energy, and fight in this group! 💥

The heat was real. The hustle was REALER. 🔥

Let’s keep building, keep working, and keep getting better together!

6U Assistant Coach, 6U All-Star Assistant Coach (District Champion/State Finalist), 8U Assistant Coach…Many, many years of Slow-Pitch Softball. 👴

🔹Coaching superpower:
Neo reaction time in the pitching circle. Dodgeball champion!

🔹Favorite part of coaching:
Being a small part in helping these kiddos grow in the game and in life. Being their biggest fan on and off the field.
