Lawrence County Knights Cassioppi Clinic!

We are excited to welcome Rocco and Bruno Cassioppi for a special wrestling clinic on Saturday June 27, 2026 at

📍 1301 State Street Lawrenceville, IL

This clinic is a great opportunity for wrestlers of all experience levels to learn from two of Illinois’ most accomplished wrestlers!

Clinic Sessions:
Session 1 - Tots

Session 2 - Bantam/Intermediate/Novice/Senior
🕐 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM CDT

💲25 per wrestler (discount for families with 3+)

‼️ THIS IS A CLOSED CLINIC. No parents, visitors, or spectators will be permitted inside during the clinic.

This is an incredible chance for young wrestlers to build confidence, improve technique, learn from elite athletes, and have fun on the mat.

Today these two Lawrence county wrestlers Julian Petties on the left Cain Monroy on the right will be running the smr relay in Peoria at the class 3a state track finals. These two have been alot of fun to watch on the mat and on the track. Good luck today!

We have athlete heading to Peoria today to compete at the state championships. Although this time it will not be for wrestling. Norah Shick will be competing in the 3a track state finals in the high jump and 100m hurdles. Norah took first place at sectionals in Newton this past Saturday. She has had a tremendous year breaking numerous school records in the high jump and hurdles. She runs the hurdles today and high jumps tomorrow. We would like to congratulate her on a great track season and wish her the best of luck this weekend.

The 2025–2026 Wrestling Awards Banquet was a great way to wrap up an incredible season 🤼‍♂️

We are so proud of all our athletes and everything they accomplished this year. We can’t wait to see what next season brings!

Lawrence County had 13 wrestlers compete in Owensboro Kentucky yesterday and they had a great showing. Results are as follows.

Lawrence county had a blast at the Illinois top dog open today with wrestlers and a coach in attendance. Coach Thomas Grove broke out the old high school shoes and showed the young guns how to pin some opponents. Unfortunately he lost in the championship via decision. Way to show the kids how to get it done. Zach Grove, won the whole thing and got his first tournament win. Way to go Zach! Beckham Hamilton fought his way to the championship and brought home second place. Brantley Brady took third after battling back from a tough loss in the first round in a loaded 8 man bracket. Chael Cox had some tough matches today but still managed to take fourth place. Great job by everyone!

Norah had a productive day on the mats, achieving a 3-0 record. Team Illinois also accomplished a 3-0 record today, securing the championship title in the platinum division by defeating a strong Missouri team 58-42. This marks a historic moment for Illinois, as it is the first time the state has sent a K-8 girls division team to the Heartland Duals. It was a privilege to coach these talented young ladies, who brought honor to Illinois. The state boasts some exceptionally skilled athletes.

Norah is off to a great start today. She is 2-0 and so is Team Illinois. The team dominated South Dakota 89-12 in the first match. Then they won an absolute intense dual against North Dakota that was decided by the very last match 54-51. That sends Team Illinois to the championship to face a tough Missouri team. Excited to see what these girls can do.
