We had an outstanding turnout at Tuesday’s tryouts! Thank you to every player who came out and competed. The effort, attitude, and talent on display made for some very difficult decisions.

After careful evaluation, we’re excited to officially announce the 2026–2027 E.O. Coffman Baseball Team!

We can’t wait to get to work with this group. The expectations are high, the goals are big, and we’re ready to embrace the challenge together.

The road to State starts now.

We’ll be using Denver Trapp Field and the Lawrence County High School indoor facility. Please arrive a few minutes early to check in and be ready to go.

Happy Father’s Day from Coffman Baseball! ❤️🖤

Today we celebrate the dads, grandfathers, and father figures who make this game possible.

Thank you for the countless hours spent in the backyard throwing one more pitch, the early mornings and late nights at the ballpark, the long road trips, the encouragement after tough losses, and the unwavering support after every win. Your sacrifices, leadership, and love help shape these young men into not only better baseball players, but better people.

The lessons learned through baseball—hard work, accountability, perseverance, and teamwork—often begin with a dad who simply showed up.

From all of us at Coffman Baseball, thank you for everything you do on and off the field. We hope each of you has an amazing Father’s Day surrounded by the people who matter most.

Tryouts will be held on Tuesday, July 7th at 3:00 PM on Denver Trapp Field 📍

This will be the first Tuesday following the TSSAA dead period.

✅ All players must have a current physical on file in order to participate.

Before we officially turn the page to a new chapter under Coach Robert Newton, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank the man who helped build Panther Baseball into what it is today—Coach Chad Moore.

Over the last four seasons, Coach Moore has established a standard of excellence that will leave a lasting impact on our program. His accomplishments speak for themselves:

🏆 3 Region Championships
🏆 2 Sub-State Victories
🏆 2 State Tournament Appearances
🏆 1 State Championship

⚾ 29-0 Perfect Season (2024)
⚾ 92-13 Overall Record (.876 Winning Percentage)

While the trophies, banners, and wins are impressive, Coach Moore’s greatest accomplishment is the countless relationships he built with his players. He invested in young athletes, helped shape them into better players and people, and created memories that will last a lifetime.

The success of Panther Baseball today is a direct reflection of the foundation Coach Moore built through his leadership, dedication, and passion for the game.

From all of us at E.O. Coffman Middle School—thank you, Coach Moore, for everything you’ve done for this program, our players, and our community. Your impact will be felt for years to come. Enjoy your time being a Dad, and watching your boys play together at the next level! (Coach Moore will continue to help and be a mentor at our program).

Congrats Coach Robert Newton!

⚾️E.O. Coffman Middle School is proud to announce Robert Newton as the new Head Baseball Coach for the 2026–2027 school year.⚾️

Coach Newton served as an assistant coach for the Panthers this past season, helping Coach Chad Moore guide them to an impressive 23-4 record. With more than a decade of coaching experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field.

His dedication to the game, strong relationships within the program, and commitment to excellence make him a natural choice to lead Panther Baseball into the future.

Coach Newton is married to Hayley Newton, a proud Coffman alumna, and together they have two sons, Cooper (11) and Maddux (6), who share their family’s love for baseball.

“I’m honored and excited for the opportunity to lead this program,” said Coach Newton. “I look forward to building on the success we’ve and continuing to develop our players, and representing Coffman with pride.”
