A true hometown legend and leader, Coach Ansted brings decades of playing and coaching excellence to the Laurinburg Highland Hooligans!

🏆 Playing Career Highlights:
• Scotland High School (1977–1979)
• Member of the 1977 4A State Championship team
• All-Conference (1978, 1979)
• All-State Team (1979)
• .404 batting average (1979)

• St. Andrew’s Presbyterian College (1980–1984)
• All-Conference all four years
• Career batting average of .391
• Athletes in Action South Pacific Team (1983)
• Inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame

⚾️ Coaching Career:
• Graduate Assistant – Miami University (1984–1985)
• Huron High School, OH (1985–1986)
• Scotland High School (1987–2003)
– Multiple Conference Championships
– 2 NC State Runner-Up finishes
– Coached numerous college athletes and MLB draft picks

We are honored to have a coach with such deep roots, experience, and passion for the game joining our program. Coach Ansted’s impact on baseball in our community is unmatched—and now he’s bringing that legacy to the Hooligans!
