New Mexico Supreme Hoops received a donation today from an anonymous donor, and we are so grateful! The Begay family is the recipient and has been with us since the start of this basketball club. They called looking for a team when they moved into Santa Fe over 15 months ago.
And though at the time my team had no organizational structure in terms of funding—I couldn’t even afford to rent facilities or pay for insurance—we ordered the most economical uniforms we could afford with our small fundraiser for 6 teams. Despite our limited ability to accommodate more players, I decided to accept more and welcome anyone who wanted to join us. They stayed with us and helped grow NM Supreme Hoops into what it is today.
The Begays moved their kids to our school and trusted me when I told them it was a great place and so was our club team. This family sacrifices so much time for their children. They also go above and beyond to help other kids in our program, and without people like them, we wouldn’t be able to have our teams.
Thank you Byron and Tanya! And I truly feel all the parents/families in our program are like this. Thank you to all the parents in our club who help other kids with rides or whatever they may need; it makes a big difference.
