Summer may be ending, but the learning, regulating, participating, and FUN never ends. ☀️💦🫧

Not every win looks like a traditional “functional” skill. Sometimes it’s regulation, connection, confidence, and simply being able to participate—and that’s progress, too. 💗🌊

🌊💗 Meet the Team: Erica, OTD, OTR/L, MT-BC 💗🌊

Hi, I’m Erica!

I’m an occupational therapist and board-certified music therapist, practicing OT since 2010 and music therapy since 2006. I’ve worked with children, teens, and adults in a variety of settings, and I love helping people discover what they can do. 💙

I’m especially passionate about sensory processing and integration, motor development, self-regulation, and supporting neurodivergent individuals. My approach is strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming, and focused on meeting each person where they are. I also love bringing music, rhythm, movement, creativity, and PLAY into therapy to make it more meaningful and motivating. 🎶✨

And then there’s WATER. 💦💧

I grew up swimming competitively and sailing, worked as a lifeguard, and later coached Special Olympics swimming. These days, I still love swimming and paddleboarding, so combining my love of the water with my love of OT through aquatic therapy feels like the perfect fit.

I’m continually inspired by what the water can make possible—from making movement feel more accessible to challenging strength, balance, coordination, and body awareness. And perhaps most importantly…the pool is FUN! Sometimes the water gives someone the confidence to try something they never thought they could do on land. Those “Wait…I DID that!” moments are my favorite. 🥹🩵

When I’m not working, I’m usually chasing around my two kids, hiking with my doodles 🐶🐶, getting outside, or looking for our next adventure.

I’m so excited to bring my love of people, music, movement, play, and water to Ocean of Change and help each client discover their own strengths—one splash at a time! 💦

We’re so excited to have Erica as part of the Ocean of Change family! 💗🌊

Trust 👏 the 👏 process 👏

The water naturally provides deep pressure, resistance, and vestibular input that help support nervous system regulation. Through carefully selected activities, graded challenges, and calm therapeutic support —all while following the child’s lead in a neurodiversity-affirming approach—we’re helping this kiddo move from feeling overwhelmed and dysregulated to calm, confident, and engaged.

What may look like “just playing in the pool” is actually what makes occupational therapy skilled. 🫧

Watch as they go from needing significant support to participating more independently as the session unfolds. ✨

Sometimes the goal isn’t doing more—it’s helping the nervous system feel safe enough to participate.

OT in the water = a happier, more regulated nervous system. 💗🌊

🌊💗 Meet the Team: Brynn Butzman, OTD, OTR/L, ADHD-RSP, CCST 💗🌊

Hi, I’m Brynn!

I am the founder and owner of Ocean of Change Therapy Services, as well as an occupational therapist with a passion for helping people thrive through the power of aquatic therapy.

After spending more than 30 years as a synchronized (artistic) swimmer and performing professionally with Cirque du Soleil, I made the decision to return to school and pursue a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. My lifelong connection to the water and fascination with its rehabilitative, engaging, and dynamic properties inspired me to complete an aquatic therapy doctoral capstone project that ultimately became the foundation for Ocean of Change Therapy Services.

Today, Ocean of Change is proud to be Nevada’s only therapy program specializing exclusively in aquatic therapy. For the past seven years, I have dedicated my career to helping both children and adults with a wide range of needs discover new possibilities, build confidence, and achieve meaningful goals through the therapeutic power of water.

When I’m not working as an OT, you can still usually find me in, on, or around the water. I love to travel with family and friends. I also spend plenty of time on the soccer field cheering on my two active, athletic children or exploring new places and adventures.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead such a passionate team and to share the life-changing benefits of aquatic therapy with our community every day. 🌊✨

🌊💗 Meet the Team: McKenna Houlihan, OTD, OTR/L 💗🌊

Hi, I’m McKenna!

I’m an occupational therapist born in Seattle and raised in Henderson, Nevada. I recently completed my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD) at Touro University Nevada, but my passion for occupational therapy began long before that. Growing up, my mom and grandma would tell me stories about occupational therapists visiting their daycare with creative, inclusive ideas that helped every child participate—planting the seed for the career I love today.

My life has always revolved around the water, from wakeboarding on Lake Mead to competing as a diver on the University of Wyoming Swim & Dive Team. Aquatic therapy quickly became a passion of mine, and I am continually inspired by the power of the water to support each person’s unique goals in fun, empowering, and meaningful ways.

When I’m not in the pool, you can usually find me soaking up the sun and enjoying the outdoors.

We are so grateful to have had McKenna as part of the Ocean of Change family for nearly a year. Her dedication, enthusiasm, and passion for helping others have already made a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients and our team! 🌊✨

Reflex integration doesn’t have to happen at a table.💧

In the water, movement becomes playful while resistance, pressure, sensory input, and connection help give the nervous system exactly what it needs in one of the most natural environments possible. 💗🌊
