Nothing about the PGA Tour's return was ever going to be easy. If that wasn't clear before, this week at the Travelers Championship quickly brought back the reality of just how complicated playing golf is going to be every week.

Things had gone smoothly the first two weeks. That changed this week at the Travelers Championship, where golf's return endured positive tests, needs for adjustments and plenty of resilience.

The most obvious reminder of their absence is the silence. Stuff an approach to kick-in range or miss a three-footer, and you’re getting the same reaction. Or, more precisely, the same lack of one.

Pushing the Ryder Cup back a year would likely have a domino effect. The Presidents Cup, which is run by the PGA Tour, is currently slated for the fall of 2021, though a move of that event to 2022 has yet to be finalized.

Sources say the Ryder Cup, scheduled for September at Whistling Straits, will be posted until 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic
