Cody Brown, the 2025 Pro Late Model track champion, restarted on the outside for the final restart and slipped past Mitchell to finish second after rebounding from his February race at Las Vegas, where he spun from fourth mid-race and recovered to finish inside the top five.

“I was kind of battling the car most of the race, but we made a few adjustments and got it a lot better,” Brown said. “I learned a lot tonight just saving the car and not overdriving it, and I think that’s what helped us come away with second.”

Race recap. This weekend definitely told me two things not to give up and also maybe start lifting a little more haha. For the first 40 lap main event I lost power steering in the first 25 laps and managed to keep the car under control to place 2nd. We changed steering fluid to hopefully help with the issue but Coming in to the second 40 lap main I unfortunately started with no power steering again and still was able to push through to another 2nd place finish! Overall, I am very happy with the results and ready to get my car fixed before the next race! Thank you to Chris Bray and Jaron Giannini for all the help on my car for not having any power steering That thing handled like a dream.
