If you asked someone how they would get better at shooting, the first thing they would say is shooting. That makes sense and isn’t wrong, but there is training to be done before that can be more effective, especially for beginners.
Think of going to the range like full contact sparring in the martial arts. You wouldn’t sign up to learn martial arts and on day one spar with a black belt. You would probably want to learn some techniques first, drill them, and as you build skill in your techniques, you would test them out in sparring.
In fact, that is how the martial arts is structured. I would know, as I have been training in the martial arts for over 26 years. But there is nothing unique to the structured approach that the martial arts takes, as training with fi****ms is no different.
