Just because you can do drills static on the range doesn’t mean you can do them on the move.

Train both. Make your ranges dynamic. I can guarantee you won’t be standing still during an encounter.

Carrying shouldn’t change with the seasons.

Yes wearing thicker, heavier jackets allows us to perhaps carry our favorite full size 🔫 but what’s the point if we struggle to unholster or can retrieve it when seconds count.

The small adjustments, the repetitions are crucial for always being 1 step ahead of any threat.

When the weather changes, your clothing changes. But effectiveness and awareness never should.

My first shooting competition was a blast. 5.5 miles in Raton, NM @ 18°F 6500ft elevation was definitely a testing environment.

I placed 5th out of 14 overall. Placed 1st for the run time but my shooting on the day let me down. Definitely room for improvement and some work to do for the next one. Looking forward to seeing what challenges the next event brings.
