Came back from our scrimmage with a 12-6 loss. We put up a fight, we played tough, but what we didn’t know was we played 3 veteran teams all in one. This is our first year, new team, new goals, new opportunity. There’s no excuses for the loss. We are thankful for the opportunity. We just need to sit down view our flaws and move forward with the season around the corner. Thank you to the families/friends and supporters that made the effort to go watch us. We want to give a huge thank you to Alyssa Cigarroa, Laredo, who represents District 8. Within less than 24 hours of voicing our concerns, she listened, acted, and made real change happen. She didn’t wait on a committee or a paycheck — she got to work because she cares about our community.

Alyssa has stepped up where many haven’t. She took the time to hear the voices of our athletes, and she moved swiftly to fix multiple issues that have been overlooked for far too long. In a city that often puts money before movement, where out-of-town teams get more support than our own, Alyssa stood up and asked, “Why not us?”

She did all of this on her own, without needing headlines or recognition — just heart.

We’re beyond grateful to have a strong woman in our city council who uplifts others and leads with purpose. It’s women like her who remind us why LTX Vaqueras stands proudly for women empowering women.

Thank you, Alyssa. This is what real leadership looks like. 💪🏽❤️
