Most hunters think finding elk is about covering more country. Sometimes it is. But a lot of times it’s about slowing down long enough to understand why elk are using that country in the first place. Feed, water, bedding, shade, wind, pressure — it all matters. Elk don’t move randomly. They move because something makes them. The better you understand that, the less you feel like you’re just wandering.
