This is a quick tutorial and overview of the setup you need for jigging for salmon. This will work all over the Great Lakes where salmon are present especially those times of the year when they stage in shallower water. I tried to cover everything you need to know in order to jig for salmon, but if I forgotten anything let me know in the comments. King Salmon, Coho, Atlantic Salmon, all of them will hit jigging spoons as well as the occasional trout.

Made a quick little trip up north to do a little jigging for salmon and immediately hooked up on the Dead End Tackle jigging spoon! I wish it always happened like that! Kings are so fun to fight especially when they are fresh out of the lake.

It was great to get out with Pat who is an excellent musky guide and the owner operator of Lake of the Woods Lodge He put me on a couple great LOTW’s Muskies on this day. I’m looking forward to my next trip up there. For more info on the lodge check out lakeofthewoodslodge.com

It is that time of year again and people are catching King Salmon! It is an absolute blast hooking up with these fish especially when they are fresh out of the lake.

Cast, catch, and cook fishing! I haven’t done a video like this before but I thought it would be cool to show the whole process. It’s very satisfying being able to catch a fish, clean it, cook it, and then put it on the table for my family. If you were to cook a fish like this how would you prepare it?
